This was my first time visiting Daikaya after a friend recommended it to me. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, which I really liked, and was a bit spicier than I was expecting for ramen. The service was quick and friendly. The shop itself is bigger than I expected and I didn't have to wait for a table or anything. Odds are if you sit at one of the long tables, you will end up sitting with other people. I did really like that there were water pitchers readily available. This ramen was solid and I would visit here again!

A small ramen restaurant located in Chinatown with a couple of booth seating, two long tables with multiple stools, and high stools surrounding the small kitchen. However, some outdoor seatings are available too. There are 8 different ramen choices on the menu, and only 3 appetizers to choose from. I ordered the shio ramen with extra noodles, shoyu ramen with extra noodles, and fried gyoza. The ramens were on my table only 5mins after I ordered. The ramens' broths were delicious, and the ramen were cooked al-dente. The fried gyozas were ok. They tasted like they were from a big frozen packet. I would avoid coming here during peak hours as seats are limited. But the wait may be short as food is served pretty quickly. There is an automatic 3% surcharge on the bill which according to what they state in their menu, "... maintain employee benefits and keep menu prices consistent". Also stated on their menu, the charge could be removed upon request.

In January I was on a mission to try as many new restaurants that I heard about, seen, or smelled while walking through the streets of DC. I have a goal, go to every restaurant in DC, seems doable. (Optimistic at heart.) Ramen is my fave for the winter! I heard this place gets packed so I ventured out as soon as it opened! Score, no wait! This foodie loves herself a good Ramen! Service was awesome, sat at the island near the kitchen to watch the cooks. My food was good. Ramen is so filling that I had to take most of it home. Spring rolls were delicious! I definitely recommend this spot for all your ramen needs. Located across from Capital One Arena, this is a place to check out while in the area, before a game, or if you work on the hill like me! Super YUMMY! By the time I left, the place was packed and a line at the door was a telltale sign that this is the place to be!

Great ramen spot in DC! Small seating inside the store but plenty outside. I recommend seating outside if you have plans to be places after your meal (cloth may smell food inside as its an open kitchen setting) Servers were nice, food was delivered pretty fast. The ramen noodles were spot on. The owner adds certain % to bill to help pay employees benefits. Lets not make this a thing please. (Note says they do remove the charge if asked. How about not add to begin with and take care of your employees).

The place was packed when we arrived, we didn't wait tho and seated on the bar where you can see how the cook and other staffs prepare the food. They surely give a show with how they cook and they just really nice people The food was good, we had the shoyu ramen and spicy miso. I like more the spicy miso which has more creamy broth. While the shoyu ramen is more of soy watery based. The place is closed on traditional Japanese restaurants and enough vibes to throw the idea and feel of being in Asia. One thing that weirded me out was the optional service fee "The 3% surcharge helps us maintain employee benefits and keep menu prices consistent. This is not a tip and can be removed upon request..." on our receipt. I understand the business can probably have a different structure but knowing that the business not only asking the customer to pay for the food and service but also for employee benefits.

Everything you've heard about this ramen spot is true! Don't look at any other ramen restaurants and just come straight here. We came for a late lunch, around 2:30 mid week. It was a bit drizzly but we walked in the rain to go here. My daughter was determined to eat here! We arrived just a minute before a solo diner. Our group of 3 waited just a few minutes while they cleared off the communal table. The solo diner was seated immediately. We would have loved the booth tables but they were already occupied! We ordered spicy miso, shio and shoyu. The spicy miso was the best - broth was very flavorful with just the right level of spiciness! Now let's talk about the noodles. Something about the noodles being made in Japan? I'm not aware of all the details but they were so perfectly cooked - the ramen noodles are unforgiving - you cook them a minute too long and it's too soft. Pull them off a minute too soon and it's too tooth-y. There were cooked perfectly The nice surprise for us was our server, Elliott. We must have given off some tourist vibes and when we were all on our phones at the end of the meal, he came over and offered to help with sightseeing recommendations! Big thanks to Elliott!

As you might expect, it was very busy on a Saturday night. We had about an hour wait, but it was well worth it. Both my wife and I ordered the Shoyu ramen. We both enjoyed the ramen. My wife, being from Japan said it had an authentic taste. That's all the endorsement you should need. The ramen options are limited, but what they do offer should cover most people's interest. The place is very cozy (but larger than most ramen shops in Japan). inside is an open floor layout. They had music playing and the chatter made it kind of loud. There are just a couple of booths and then long tall tables to sit and enjoy your ramen. They have outdoor tables near the street with heaters if needed.

We were in the area to attend Awesome Con 2024. Food courts at the event were packed. So we decided to try Daikaya Ramen as it was just 10 mins walk from the event. We got very lucky as they had a table for 4. I have heard that this place is usually packed. Very fortunate. As soon as we got seated, there was a decent line. Service was great. We had a couple of questions regarding their specials. Our waiter was very nice to explain the specials to us and also recommended some things to us. Most of us ordered the spicy miso. It's so good. I have never been able to complete a bowl of ramen, but I crushed this one. It was so delicious. Highly recommend this one. Not too spicy. Spice levels are 5/10. Price is nominal as well. Similar pricing to other ramen places. Ambiance is cool. It's a small place. They have a combination of booths, standing and rotating seats. I will definitely go back again.

What a vibe! This place is hip and it's a trip! Very diverse! The dining space includes booths and shared common eating counters. Yes, we were inches away from other ramen lovers. Full disclosure: I consented to gluten-based ramen once I stepped in. Gluten and glee sometimes come with my food ventures. That said, nothing is gluten-free here. Expected. Anyway, the ramen came quick, hot and ready! Perfect temperature. Properly spiced and the pork diced! Spicy miso is one of the more popular bowls here. And the spicy-ness is cool (mild), said me, the one with the occasion bouts of acid-reflux! Oxymoronic and ironic. I enjoyed sipping and slurping every drop! And everything stayed down, happily. And then there's the music! Try eating ramen with Barry White humming to you! Quite the cultural crossover coupled with the cuisines! Again, as the young people say, this place is a vibe! Come through!
